Office for Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health (NITE-Saúde)
The Office for Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health (NITE-Saúde) fosters innovation, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship in the University. Created in 2009, NITE-Saúde established the Innovation and Intellectual Property Policy for UFCSPA, offering researchers support and orientation in the process of patent filing and software and trademark registration. It also encourages undergraduate students to engage in junior companies, as well as startup creation. Aiming to create an innovative environment, NITE-Saúde offers courses, workshops, hackathons, and other intramural and extramural activities. In addition, NITE-Saúde assists researchers in finding partners for technology development projects with innovation potential, including national and international research institutions and the private sector, with whom specific Partnership Agreements are signed.
Innovation Center in Health
The Innovation Center in Health was built in 2018 in collaboration with the hospital complex of Santa Casa. The Innovation Center in Health hosts events and meetings between stakeholders of innovation projects, and it is where NITE-Saúde and LIPECIN (Innovation, Prototyping, Creative and Inclusive Education Laboratory of UFCSPA) are located. The Santa Casa Projects Office is also located at the Innovation Center in Health, strengthening collaboration between both institutions.
