About the program
The Graduate Program in Psychology and Health was officially approved in December 2015 and begun its activities and student selection on August 2016. Its goal is the qualification of human resources to work in the field of Psychology and its interfaces with health sciences integrating research and psychological knowledge to the principles and process of psychosocial, developmental and biopsychological functioning assessment and intervention.
Graduate profile
Psychology Program graduates will work as researcher-educators that are critical, reflective, creative, ethical and committed to qualified professional actions. They will be able to work as academic and scientific-technological leaders, taking advantage of the potential of research activities for the generation of jobs and resources, as well as for the qualification of their professional practices.
Infrasctructure
In addition to the university’s infrastructure and facilities for theoretical and practical activities, the Psychology and Health Program is provided with laboratories such as the Psychological Assessment Laboratory; NERV - the laboratory of the Virtual Reality Group and the Psychosocial Practices Laboratory. It also has a specific assessments and psychological test library.
Research lines
- Psychosocial processes, health and development: It covers the study of the different psychosocial and developmental processes involved in the health of individuals and groups in different contexts, with focus on public policies and the perspective of health promotion and prevention.
- Assessment and intervention in Psychology: It studies the development, application and validation of instruments for psychological assessment and the study of procedures in different health contexts. It includes development and assessment of methods for psychological intervention in the interface with the health sciences.
