Biography
She holds a degree in Medicine by the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in (1996), residence in gynecology and obstetrics at the Hospital Conceição from the Group Hospital Femina (2001); she pursued a PhD in Epidemiology from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul in 2007; she received her PhD from the State University of Pennington Biomedical Research Center in 2006, in study of methods used for obesity research. She was a research fellow at the University of Oxford -UK- Department of Primary Health Care in 2003, having the opportunity to interact with leading names in evidence-based medicine and meta-analysis. She is a postdoctoral fellow in epidemiology at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. She is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Collective Health at the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre. Herareas of interest in research are epidemiology of gestational diabetes, epidemiology of obesity, epidemiology in gynecology and obstetrics, environmental epidemiology and systematic review and meta-analysis.
Reasearch Interest
She holds experience in the area of collective health, with emphasis on epidemiology, the research topics of her interest comprehend the following topics: epidemiology of chronic diseases, environmental epidemiology, sexually trasmited infections, sexual health, systematic review and meta-analysis.
