Graduate's competences and skills

Graduates from UFCSPA’s Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Program are speech and hearing therapists, human communication professionals and specialists in swallowing and balance. They will have received a generalist, humanistic, ethical-philosophical, critical-reflective, theoretical-scientific education, in line with the principles and values that govern professional practice and social responsibility. Graduates are trained to work in the health-disease process at different levels of care, with actions to promote health care, prevention, recovery and rehabilitation, as well as in education, in line with the perspective of comprehensive care. They should be professionals with technical and political competence, sensitivity, proactivity and creativity. The focus is on responsible care of individuals, families and communities in the social aspects of health and education, respecting socio-cultural, historical and regional diversity.
