UFCSPA’s Psychology program offers a generalist, critical-reflective training, committed to ethical principles, endowed with initiative, integrative and collaborative capacity and competence to evaluate and dialogically intervene in specific situations and contexts in order to promote quality of life and integral health. Psychologists graduating from UFCSPA are expected to have solid knowledge of the epistemological dimensions of Psychology as a science and its connections to other fields of knowledge, understanding its historical development and its contribution to science and society, in addition to being open to the incorporation of new technologies, knowledge and practices. They must be able to observe the scope and limits of the field of Psychology as a science and profession, based on scientific rigor, professional ethical principles, humanistic vision and interdisciplinary perspective. They must also be committed to the historicity and integrality of the health/disease process, universality, the search for equity, inclusion, respect for human rights, social responsibility. and citizenship.
