Program duration: 9 semesters

Minimum: 9 semesters

Maximum: 16 semesters

Graduate's competences and skills

By the end of the program, graduates will have had a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education that enables them to use the theoretical and practical tools of physics in health care. They will be able to work in harmony with entire healthcare teams and in related fields of work, especially alongside the three traditional knowledge areas of Medical Physics: Radiotherapy, Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology. Graduates will have developed a solid knowledge of physics, so that they are able to deal with both new and traditional questions. They will be able to seek new forms of scientific and technological knowledge and practice within the healthcare field, with awareness of their social role as medical physicists. Hence, graduates may work in research and radiology centers and institutions, in the diagnostic and therapy equipment industry, in institutes that control and regulate ionizing radiation and in health inspection.
