Biography

Patrícia El Beitune is an associate professor of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (2014), regent of the obstetrics discipline for the Medicine Course and supervisor of Fetal Medicine for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Training in Residence. She holds an academic degree in Medicine from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1998), a Master’s of Science degree (2003) from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (Universidade de São Paulo), a Ph.D. (2004) from the Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto (Universidade de São Paulo) and a post-doctoral fellowish from the London School of Hygienne and Tropical Medicine (2005). She is specialized in sonography in obstetrics and gynecology by Federação Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia (FEBRASGO) and Colégio Brasileiro de Radiologia (CBR) and also holds a specialization in Fetal Medicine by FEBRASGO. She is an associate editor from Revista Brasileira de Ginecologia e Obstetrícia (RBGO Gynecology & Obstetrics). She is a consultant for CAPES and CNPq (both in Brazil) and reviewer for the following journals: Diabetes Care, European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Biology, International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Infectious Diseases in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Revista da Associação Médica Brasileira.

 

Research Interest

With a research interest in woman' health during pregnancy and fetal medicine, her projects involve applied clinical research with a focus on metabolic effects of drugs on fetus, fetal vitality, perinatal prognosis, limit of viability of newborn-infant and ultrasound applications for women's health and maternal-fetal binomial
