Mauriceia Cassol is an associate professor of the Speech Pathology Language Department at the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (2006) and a professor in the master's and doctoral program in Rehabilitation Sciences. She holds an academic degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Science from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1995), a Master's degree in Communication Disorders also from the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (1999) and a PhD in Health Sciences from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2004), as well as a post-doctorate in Speech pathologist at the Ghent University Hospital (Belgium). 


Reasearch Interest

Her research is focused on characterizing vocal pathology and communication performance in young and elderly participants. She holds research projects conducted in the Voice and Speech Research Lab, adopting behavioral and acoustic measures of voice production to examine the influence of various factors in the development of dysphonia. She also has experience in larynx cancer, voice rehabilitation, professional voice for singers and communication skills.
